The Laser Alternative to Gum Surgery.
The LANAP® protocol is the world’s first and ONLY dental laser procedure FDA cleared and scientifically proven to regenerate bone and tissues lost to gum disease, helping to save your natural teeth. Compared with traditional surgery, the “no cut, no sew, no fear” LANAP® Protocol is more comfortable with faster recovery and less post-op sensitivity, swelling and gum recession.
LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is a surgical therapy for periodontitis, or gum disease, that uses a laser to regenerate damaged tissues rather than remove them. It's a minimally invasive procedure that can be more comfortable and lead to faster recovery than traditional surgery.
LANAP uses a laser (specifically an Nd:YAG laser) to target and remove diseased gum tissue, while leaving healthy tissue intact. The laser also helps kill bacteria and encourage tissue regeneration.
Compared to traditional gum surgery, LANAP generally results in less bleeding, pain, and swelling, and a faster recovery.
LANAP aims to regenerate the attachment apparatus, including new cementum, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone.
